| Vigil for All Nascent Human Life | St. Patrick Cathedral | 12/1/2012 6:00 PM | 12/1/2012 7:30 PM | Join Bishop Kevin W. Vann on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 6:00pm at St. Patrick Cathedral for the Third Annual Vigil for All Nascent Human Life. History of the Vigil: In the fall of 2010 the Holy Father announced that he would celebrate a Vigil for All Nascent Human Life (or life at its beginnings or origins) at St. Peter’s Basilica to coincide with first vespers of the First Sunday of Advent. The Holy Father then requested that all Diocesan Bishops preside in analogous celebrations. The purpose, according to the Holy See, is to "thank the Lord for his total self-giving to the world and for his Incarnation which gave every human life its real worth and dignity," and to "invoke the Lord's protection over every human being called into existence." Please help us make this part of our Diocesan Advent tradition by making plans to join us for this beautiful beginning to the Advent season. NOTE: This is not a Mass.
A light reception will follow in the Parish Hall.
