Conscience Rights, Religious Liberty Violated by
Sweeping HHS Contraceptive Mandate
Bishop Vann and Texas Catholic Bishops of the Texas Catholic Conference, and U.S. Catholic bishops through the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, are asking all Catholics to contact their congressional representative to seek support for legislation to overturn a recent federal Health and Human Services Department mandate. The mandate requires Catholic organizations to provide health insurance that pays for contraceptive and other medical services that violate the Catholic moral conscience and First Amendment rights of separation of church and state.
