Marriage Encounter is a weekend program for married couples led by married couples. It consists of carefully designed steps that lead you to honestly examine all aspects of your life together. There are a series of presentations given by trained “team couples,” followed by an assignment. Each person completes the assignment and then meets their spouse privately to discuss the topic.
There is no group sharing and no one expects you to speak in public about your relationship. It is a very private weekend which allows you to concentrate on the areas of your relationship that are important to you.
The cost for the weekend is $175 per couple. A $60 non-refundable deposit is required to hold a reservation. For more information or to register, visit the Marriage Encounter website at www.northtexasmarriageencounter.org or call Terry and Kathy Telger at (817) 294-2749. St. Andrew Parish, 3312 Dryden Rd., Fort Worth, will host a retreat Saturday, Feb. 11 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. "Living with an awakened heart" will be led by Monsignor Don Fischer.
For more than twenty-five years, a spirit-led message has flowed through Pastoral Reflections, a weekly radio program on WRR 101.1 FM Dallas reflecting on the Liturgy of the Word for each Sunday. Listeners awaken to a Heart-Presence as they identify with Monsignor Don's journey of self- discovery. A message rooted in the recognition that as believers we are called to accept our human condition and its perfect compliment, the indwelling presence of a loving God in us all. "The Gospel calls us to wholeness, to be fully ourselves and fully alive. It challenges us to leave the comfortable and familiar journey into new places. The place I want to take you is the place of the heart. The traditional place where God’s presence and our presence commingle enabling us to resonate a Spirit that connects, nurtures and transforms. I would also like to explore the 'enemies' that keep us from dwelling in the heart: fear, anger, and shame, and to learn exercises that keep these enemies from robbing us of the joy and peace of living with an awakened heart."
There is no charge for the retreat and lunch is included. To Register, call the Pastoral Center at (817) 927-5383 or e-mail Alice Curran at acurran@standrewcc.org or Michele Salcedo at msalcedo@standrewcc.org. Prayer and Fellowship: The Lay Carmelites2/12/2012 2:00 PM -
