Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I am honored and blessed by the opportunity to serve as the third Bishop for the Diocese of Fort Worth. Since 2005, it has been a blessing to travel throughout our Diocese, meeting so many people who give witness to the strong faith commitment that has been part of this Diocese for four decades. I have seen your hard work and dedication in service to the Lord and one another in our parishes, schools and countless other ministries. The legacy of our ancestors in faith that built the local Church in North Texas is vibrant and alive in all of us today.

As we celebrate our 40th anniversary of the establishment of our Diocese, we are called to deepen our commitment to live more fully in spiritual union with our Savior and with one another. This anniversary will be a time for reflection, as we seek to deepen our relationship with the Lord and His Church that He calls us to be. Although the challenges we face today are different from those of 40 years ago, our legacy of faith remains unchanged. During this milestone in our history, we have a significant opportunity to proclaim more fully our Faith and to be united in a vision for the Diocese of Fort Worth, through our commitment and God's grace.

These are tough economic times for our nation and Church, but as our Lord in St. Matthew's Gospel tells us "...with God, all things are possible." So we proceed with faith, hope and confidence in the Lord to breathe life into our All Things Possible Campaign.

The success of this campaign will depend upon your commitment in prayer, involvement and finances. It gives us the opportunity to sacrifice in the name of Christ Jesus, accomplishing great things for our local Church. While this effort will require sacrifice from us all, I have every confidence we will, with God's help, achieve our goal.
