A Chaplain and a Lay Minister

The Hospital Ministry Department provides spiritual care to patients in Fort Worth’s downtown hospitals. Our Chaplains administer the following Sacraments: Anointing of the Sick, Holy Eucharist, Reconciliation and Baptism. Chaplains may be reached 24 hours a day via our answering service.

If you need a Priest or Chaplain at one of the
local hospitals call 817-294-6360.

Our Mission

Our mission is to be a channel of grace to bring the healing power of God to patients and other persons we visit at hospitals in center-city Fort Worth. We do this by direct visitation, sacramental ministry, prayer, compassionate presence, counsel and referral.

Requests for Hospital Visitations

If you want yourself or a loved one to be visited by a Catholic chaplain or lay hospital minister while you are in the hospital, you must list your religious preference and designate your desire for a visit. Otherwise those ministers will not know you are in the hospital and may be prevented from visiting you, even if they do learn that you are a patient. This change in procedure is due to the implementation of federal regulations growing out of a 1996 law, the HIPAA (Health and Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996), intended to protect the privacy of patient records. If the patient is incapacitated or otherwise unable to speak for themselves in this matter, the person registering them can make the designation.
