Engaged Encounter

Engaged Encounter is a weekend retreat designed to help couples examine the life long commitment they are making to one another. The weekend provides engaged couples with time together to talk honestly about their hopes, fears, goals, and feelings, and to better understand the rich meaning of Christian marriage.

What happens at Engaged Encounter?

The weekend is presented by a team of married couples and a chaplain. It lasts from Friday evening to around noon on Sunday. Throughout the weekend, the presenting team will give a series of talks. An opportunity will be given after each talk for personal reflection on the talk's subject and also a chance to share your ideas, dreams, feelings and hopes with your fiancée.

The personal communication skills you develop during this weekend will be your foundation to build upon in the years to come. Continued use of these techniques will allow your marriage relationship to grow deeper as the years go by. How much you and your fiancée put into the weekend will determine how much you will get out of it.

Cost

The cost of the weekend is $175 per couple, of which $100 is a non-refundable deposit. Please send full payment with your complete registration form. If funds are an issue, send the deposit with the complete registration form (the balance is due and payable when you check in). The total cost covers expenses of meals and boarding. The weekend is held in the quiet, reflective atmosphere of the Catholic Renewal Center, located on the campus of Nolan High School in Ft. Worth. The sleeping rooms are dormitory style, and you will be sharing your room with at least one other person
