The purpose of the Mission Council is to educate the faithful and to initiate and coordinate activities with the goal that every parish, large or small, can participate in this outreach. To accomplish this, the council will assist and encourage parishes and other groups:

• To pray for the work of missions as well as for an increase in missionary vocations
• To better understand the call of the gospel to sacrifice as we strive to serve others
• To form mission-minded faith groups
• To identify opportunities to send missioners as well as financial resources to mission communities
• To organize activities in support of world missions
