If you or someone you know has been sexually abused by anyone who serves the Church, and you need to talk with someone about feelings of betrayal or hurt due to abuse, exploitation, or harassment ... If you need information about resources to help in the healing process...
We are here to help you.
A sacred and trusting relationship exists between the Catholic Church and all its members, children, youth, and adults. When that trust is betrayed through sexual misconduct of any kind, it is a matter of very great concern and the responsibility of the Church to seek justice and healing for victims.
Because of the harm that has been done to members of the Catholic Church by sexual abuse, in keeping with The Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, the Diocese of Fort Worth has a process for dealing with reports of sexual misconduct by clergy, other church personnel, or volunteers. If you or someone you know was abused in another diocese, the Victim Assistance Coordinator will assist in bringing your report to the attention of the appropriate authorities.
When someone has experienced sexual abuse from a person in a position of trust, justice and compassion, demand a response.
We are here to help you access resources including:
- Nonjudgmental listening
- Spiritual support
- Pastoral care
- Professional counseling
- Support groups
The Victim Assistance Ministry of the Diocese of Fort Worth is available:
- To individuals who have experienced sexual abuse by clergy, lay employees, or volunteers serving in the Diocese of Fort Worth
- To family members of victims / survivors
If you or someone close to you has been abused in another diocese or state:
- Find resources and support where you live
- Report the abuse to the proper authorities
