World Youth Day, WYD, is a yearly youth celebration that was started by Pope John Paul II as a way to inspire the youth and encourage them in living the teachings of Christ. In 1984 and 1985 he invited the youth of the world to Rome for a Palm Sunday celebration in St. Peter's Square. Later, announcing the institution of WYD on December 20, 1985, the first official WYD was held in 1986. 1987 brought about a historical tradition, when the second event and first international WYD took place in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Calling All Potential Pilgrims to represent the Diocese of Fort Worth in Madrid!

We still feel that there is enough interest out there to extend this invitation one more time! We are asking everyone from youth ministers to pastors to invite all interested young people to embrace this once in a lifetime opportunity. The total cost for teens (16-19) is now $3,705 for three weeks of adventure and spiritual grow; for adults (20+), the base price is the same, plus an adult supplement for guaranteed twin rooms in Paris, Lourdes, and Fatima... Can't do a normal "vacation" for three weeks to these places for the price we are offering... Check it out!

If interested, simply fill out and send in the WYD registration form into the Diocese with a $300 deposit and follow the below instructions for registering with EF Tours before the current October 31st deadline!

Please go to www.eftours.com to get enrolled with EF Tours. Our Tour # is 598725 -- You'll need this number to access our tour. You'll put down a $95 deposit to hold your space. THIS MUST BE DONE BY NO LATER THAN the October 31 deadline. After the 31st, the price will go up again.

Please take note, the amount to EF Tours is now $3,405 before October 31, but the computer generates a price based off the total number of people enrolled already... Our numbers are good, but you might not see this number when registering... DON'T freak out or lose faith... OUR price to EF TOURS is now $3405, unless you are an adult, 20 & over, or you choose to buy the OPTIONAL insurance. The computer is a computer doing it's thing... It doesn't know how big our group is until everyone is registered, it just knows who is registered so far.

You will also be given payment options for paying off your BALANCE with EF Tours. The TOTAL cost will remain $3,705 for the entire trip ($300 to the Diocese / $3,405 to EF Tours). Adults, 20 and over, will pay a little more for the benefits that they will be given (namely, Twin Rooms and Breakfast & Dinners included for everyone -- really a GREAT compromise!) However, this increased adult price is based and dependent on the total number of pilgrims attending the trip... this should be a minimum increase with the total numbers we have and for the benefits that will be received by these adults. Everything paid to EF Tours goes towards the $3,405 BALANCE -- The only exception is the totally OPTIONAL trip insurance plan offered by EF TOURS which is in addition to the $3,405 and costs $135 per person... It REALLY is a GREAT deal considering what it covers... Check it out!

Very Important

Please be sure that the name you enroll with at EF TOURS matches your name as it appears on YOUR PASSPORT. Airline tickets will be generated by EF Tours and this needs to correspond exactly to your passport information.

We will meet several times before the trip to discuss practical items, like what to pack, but also prepare ourselves spiritually for this encounter with Christ and His Church. Passport

If you have not yet taken care of getting your passport, do so now please. This can be done at your local COURTHOUSE or online at travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html. We MUST HAVE YOUR PASSPORT information to get you registered with WYD in Madrid so HURRY and get a copy of it to me ASAP. You may mail a SIGNED copy of your front passport page to:
