Important Notice

Due to budgetary matters concerning the Catholic Center, His Excellency, Bishop W. Vann, has authorized the suspension of Permanent Deacon Formation for a three-year period. Information received from individuals expressing an interest in Deacon Formation or who have begun the Pre-Inquiry process will be maintained, so that these men can be contacted when the program resumes.

Permanent Deacon Formation has been an important and integral part of the ministry of the Diocese of Fort Worth. Heartfelt gratitude is expressed to Dr. Ann R. Healey for her 26 years of ministry as the Director of Formation.

Office of Permanent Deacons

The office of Permanent Deacons assists the bishop in care, guidance, and support of deacons through communication and personal contact. It promotes deacons' spiritual, intellectual, and ministerial development and helps promote harmonious deacon-pastor relationships. The office of Permanent Deacons also assists in the assignment of deacons.

Office of Permanent Deacon Formation

The office of Permanent Deacon Formation assists the bishop in planning and supervision of the formation program and participants. It formulates curriculum, supervises formation sessions and faculty, and proposes candidates to the bishop for ordination.
